While Hilton Head gets all of the attention because of its world class resort status, the Bluffton/Okatie area is filled withits own rich history, heritage, arts and fun. The town of Bluffton was incorporated over 150 years ago but its actual beginning can be traced back almost another 100 years. The area was originally called Kirk’s Bluff, and was officially incorporated as Bluffton in 1852 as the first town in Southern Beaufort County.
Bluffton is located just 12 miles west of Hilton Head Island, SC and approximately 20 miles northeast of Savannah, GA. The Bluffton area, with its creeks and rivers, is filled with kayaking, boating, fishing, shrimping and crabbing. Great golf, tennis, polo matches and sunsets are just a few of the year round activities locals and visitors enjoy.

Along with the diversity of activities in the area, their is also plenty of diversity in Bluffton real estate. In the past few years many affordable communities have opened their gates with homes in the price range of $180k - $500k. There are also a number of exclusive gated communities like Colleton River Plantation, Palmetto Bluff, Berkeley Hall, and Belfair that have homes priced over $1 million.
